Hey everyone – Andy from TUSK RC. Happy to get the website live and it’s been a lot of work between the site and developing and testing the trucks and trialing different products to settle onto a simple ‘standard’. Then testing different mechanisms such as dump & roll-off.
I started 2025 not knowing how to design anything in CAD. I started with Autodesk Fusion and still use that – but it’s not been easy. Knowing the end-goal did make it more achievable – so like I knew I needed to design a 3d-printable rear differential – but like how?
Well, trial and error. I printed dozens and dozens of each part – the best part about 3D printing is you can design something and for smaller prints have it in your hand in like 30 minutes. So that allows for rapid development – which is good because I failed a bunch. I saved some entire bins full of failed parts.
Below is a gallery of random pictures gathered throughout 2025 developing parts and then early test videos. From the very first chassis/spring (look how skinny it is it broke immediately) to my first roll-off mechanism and first driving model.
It’s been a fun hobby and I’ve learned a lot. I’m excited to continue to develop – I have some ambitious projects planned.
